Story of a man (Gabriele Tinti) whose wife (Isabella Andrea Guzon) dies and is then left in custody of her children from a previous marriage. One of them bears a striking resemblance to her mother, and she sets out to seduce her stepfather just as her mother used to. Set in Italy, just before World War II.
