A stray planet on a collision course with Earth mysteriously begins orbiting our blue marble. Then, what at first seemed like a dead planet, suddenly begins to threaten the Earth with a fleet of lethal flying saucers. This film was released in the U.S. in March of 1963.
This film was one of the last screen appearances of famed British actor Claude Rains, who among many other roles, portrayed The Invisible Man (1933). Rains died from an abdominal hemorrhage in Laconia, New Hampshire, on May 30th, 1967. He was 77.
Rains designed his own tombstone. It reads: “All things once, are things forever. Soul, once living, lives forever.”
This rare TV print includes an interesting introduction created by the U.S. distributor, UPA (United Productions Of America), which is missing from all other public domain prints of this film.
