Killer Ape (1953)

Jungle Jim (Johnny Weissmuller) is accused to the murder of a native who has been providing a mad scientist with innocent animals to be used in his experiments. The killing was actually committed by a ferocious “Man-Ape” that is terrorizing the jungle.

7'7″ Max Palmer, who plays the giant, also appeared in 1952's The Sniper and was one of the giant mutants in Invaders From Mars, made the following year. Palmer went on to become a professional wrestler and then an ordained minister. He died on May 7th., 1984 from heart disease.
