Fred MacMurray and Madeleine Carroll star in their fifth and final collaboration together, playing Vincent and Paula Doane. Vincent is working long hours on a new advertising contract from his ex-girlfriend’s company, but Paula thinks that he is having an affair. All’s fair in love and war, so she decides on a little revenge. She hires an actor to flirt with her when her husband is sure to notice. But everything goes horribly wrong when he doesn’t show up and the man that she flirts with is actually cigarette tycoon Claude Kimball (Buddy Rogers). Can their marriage survive the misunderstandings?
