Gianna Maria Canale stars as Theodora, an Egyptian dancing girl who marries Roman emperor Justinian (Georges Marchal). When she uses her position to improve the lives of the common people, her opponents begin to plot against her. Also stars Renato Baldini and also with Irene Papas and Carlo Sposito.
Trivia: The gigantic settings used in this film were built in Rome, on the same ground intended for an international fair in 1943 that never took place due to WWII.
The picture quality for this film is a bit soft and the colors are a bit faded, but it is still the best English language print currently available anywhere.
