A Japanese Lord disappears under mysterious circumstances. The Marchioness of Langrune is strangled on a train and the murderer escapes thanks to a clever disguise. After finding the body, Inspector Juve (Jacques Dufilho), with the help of the victim’s nephew, journalist Jerôme Fandor (Pierre Malet), begins to investigate, convinced that he will catch Fantômas (Helmut Berger).
