House In The Woods, The (1957)

A novelist, Geoffrey Carter (Michael Gough), in search of solitude goes with his wife Carol (Patricia Roc) to a country cottage owned by a widower artist (Ronald Howard). Gradually Geoffrey comes to suspect that the artist had murdered his wife and is about to kill Carol as well.
